With Easter only a couple of weeks away, here are some of the activities that we’ve got on our list to keep the kids active and entertained.
Cadbury’s Easter Egg Hunts with the National Trust

About: Cadbury’s and the National Trust have teamed up to provide possibly the perfect combination for some Easter Fun. They even have a helpful postcode tool here to check your local National Trust property participating. Times, costs and locations are all on the site pages.
Dusty’s Giant Easter Duck Hunt – London Wetland Centre
Address: London Wetland Centre, Queen Elizabeth’s Walk, Barnes, London, SW13 9WT
Dates: 30 March – 15 April, daily
Times: 10am – 5pm
About: A GIANT duck hunt around WWT London nature reserve to discover where they are hiding. You’ll need all your special detective skills to track them. Look up as well as down, our ducks like to perch above you sometimes. They also love splashing around, so they won’t be far from the water. If you find them all you’ll win a prize! £1 per trail including a prize.
As well as searching for GIANT ducks, there’s also lots of Dusty’s ducky cousins to see, plus join the team for a spot of Pond Dipping or find out how to build a nest during one of our Wild Play sessions.

Easter Bunny Day at Battersea Park Zoo

About: Visit Kew this Easter to take part in an exciting adventure featuring Peter Rabbit and his friends. Take part in games and learn about the vegetables Peter found in Mr McGregor’s garden. Follow a trail based on Peter Rabbit and other famous Beatrix Potter characters. Discover Beatrix Potter’s links with Kew, her struggles to get recognised in the scientific community and how this led her to create her world-famous characters.
There is a jam packed schedule of Peter Rabbit inspired activities including learning to grow your own vegetables and building a rabbit warren. see here for further detail.

Easter Egg Trail at the Chelsea Physic Gardens

About: The Easter bunny will be hopping around Chelsea Physic Garden this Easter. Follow the bunny trail around the Garden, and answer clues to claim your Rococo chocolate Easter eggs as a prize! All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult.

About: Science Night is a special overnight event for 7–11-year-olds, featuring exciting hands-on workshops, science shows, and a sleepover at the Science Museum among the amazing exhibits—all followed by a tasty breakfast and a breathtaking film in our IMAX theatre. Science Night is for families, birthday parties, schools, Cubs and Brownie groups.

Robotics Easter Activities at the National Army Museum

About: Discover how the army uses technology with our robotics challenge. Can you master the robotic arms to complete our missions?
- Mission 1: Collect easter eggs with your robotic arm. Master the controls and fill a basket without breaking your easter eggs.
- Mission 2: Level up and try using a spoon with your robotic arm to fill the basket. It’s harder than it sounds!
- Mission 3: Can you create an ‘eggcellent’ piece of art with your robotic arm? Manoeuvre your arm using pens and stamps. You might just end up on our wall of fame!

Animals of the Ice Age at Howletts Wild Animal Park

About: Discover a world lost in time, as Animals of the Ice Age opens at Howletts this Easter! As you explore a forgotten land, you’ll marvel at the life size pre historic creatures taking over the Woodland Walk. Wonder at the mighty mammoth, stare at the savage sabre toothed Smilodon and delight at the sheer size of the giant sloth, plus many more. Our new outdoor exhibition, is shaping up to be the coolest thing in Canterbury this Spring!
Other things going at Howletts : Over the Easter holiday, for the elephant lovers, there will be Elephant House Tours (from £12) where visitors will be able to go behind the scenes and see inside an elephant’s bedroom and find out how the keepers look after the largest herd of African elephants in the UK. More eggcellent activities include egg decorating and free animal talks, to a prize draw, where visitors could win a once in a lifetime gorilla encounter! Additional special experiences (a further fee applies) during the Easter holiday include a Crack of Dawn Tour to see the park before it opens. The route will take visitors past tigers, lions, gorillas and elephants. Finally, and not to be missed, get the low down on the largest collection of western lowland gorillas outside of Africa and help prepare some enrichment that you will see the gorillas enjoy at the end of the tour.
