It’s over 2 years since I last did an update. Quite how that time has flown by so quickly God only knows.
For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m Melissa and I started SpareMyTime 3 years ago with the intention of making life easier for busy people. 3 years on, the make up of our business had changed but the intention still endures.
In 2016 I moved from my City career to a life based at home focusing on our children. Unable to sit still and with my City blinkers firmly on, I embarked on founding SpareMyTime – an online database for booking anything from plumbers to painters to childcare to events. After an exhilarating year of learning, planning and building (our talented programmer did the building), we were finally able to launch our site in 2017. By the end of 2017 we had a number of loyal followers and users of our platform.
However, it soon became clear that most people in life like to feel looked after (I am no exception). We added a phone number to our site at the end of 2018 and our home concierge side took off. We now have a wonderful hand picked selection of providers who work miracles for our clients and are a genuine pleasure to have around the house. To help our clients solve their home problems with a good dose of excellent customer service and attention gives us an enormous amount of happiness. Only challenged in feel good factor by the genuine joy it gives me to provide these wonderful sole traders a voice in the crowd.
As my children have grown older I discovered a world of intelligent and highly able mums either juggling the strains of a work life balance or unable to find enough flexibility in a job to manage it with a family. In September 2019, we were delighted to add another string to our bow – virtual assistance manned by highly capable and skilled mums. Our goal is to provide peace of mind and a genuine sense of ‘we’ve got your back’ both to those who are part of our team and importantly, to our clients. Flexible working is now a thing. But to us it’s a passion 💗
There have been stresses and strains along the way. But for every referral, every booking, every new client, every mum we help find the right work life balance and every kind word we get from a client or contact, we have grown in our output and intention.
It is a pleasure to be part of a new world, where collectively we can contribute to making life easier for all.
