How To Write SEO Friendly Blog Posts

How To Write SEO Friendly Blog Posts

SEO friendly blog posts are one of the most effective ways to drive traffic to your website. Most businesses are well aware of this; it is why over 4 million blog posts are published every single day. But how do you create high quality blog posts?

Here are seven tips to help you write SEO friendly blog posts.

1. How To Write An SEO Friendly Blog Post: Choose A Target Keyword Related To Your Topic

Before you start writing a blog post, think of a topic – and then try to good keyword that your target audience are searching for. For instance, if you run a recruitment business in Leeds and you are writing a blog post with tips for job seekers, you could choose the keyword “job seekers in Leeds”.

Once you have a good keyword, you can think of a blog post idea that will appeal to your target audience (such as “10 tips for job seekers in Leeds”). This is a great way to connect with potential customers. Just make sure that the blog post is actually useful and relevant to your target audience; if not, you won’t get many clicks, even if the keyword is good.

2. Include Headings And Paragraphs

Breaking your article up with headings and paragraphs will make it easier for users to read, but that isn’t all. Headings (both H2 and H3 headings) improve the SEO ranking of your blog post, especially if one of the headings includes your target keyword. So make sure to use at least a few headings in your articles!

3. Use Similar Keywords

It can be tempting to stuff your blog post with your target keyword, but doing this can make your article difficult to read. It can also make your article register as spam to Google bots, so use the keyword only when it is appropriate. Instead, use similar keywords to make the topic even more obvious to Google bots.

4. Make Sure The Length Is Optimised

It is also important to make sure that the length of the blog post is optimised. A blog post should be at least 300 words, but be careful not to write too much. This is because a study found that most internet users have a very short attention span, so walls of text are generally abandoned before they are finished.

We suggest writing blog posts that are between 400 and 600 words to encourage users to read the whole post. You can break the post up with subheadings, bullet points and images to make it even more user-friendly.

5. Use Internal Links

Internal links improve your SEO page ranking, but that isn’t all; they also encourage users to click around your website. This will improve the whole website’s SEO ranking, so be sure to include at least one internal link in each blog post.

6. Use External Links

External links also improve your SEO page ranking, and if you are lucky the website you link to may also share your blog post. This could introduce you to a whole new audience who are interested in your products or services.

7. Post Regularly

Finally it is important to post regularly, as this shows Google that your website is active and alive. You could include blog posts in a weekly newsletter, or you could share them on social media; whatever helps to bring in page views and clicks!
