Let’s face it, recruiting is like starting a journey without a map. It’s intricate, sometimes perplexing, and oh-so-challenging. Yet, when each mile is travelled, the result is immensely rewarding. After all, we’re not just filling roles; we’re impacting lives, dreams, and aspirations. And with such an important mission, there’s bound to be a plot twist or two along the way.

Curious about what I look for when recruiting? Here are my essentials.  

Cultural fit

We have a strong culture at SpareMyTime.  We don’t just look for someone who can do the job, but someone who’ll thrive in our workplace and take full advantage of all that we are offering.

Soft skills & EQ

An old boss of mine (investment banking) used to pride himself for recruiting for EQ.  Bearing in mind this was 15 years ago, I’m still impressed.  It’s not just the problem-solving skills, it’s the ability to predict when these skills may be needed – before it’s even happened.

Growth mindset

All our clients are brilliant in their originality and determination to challenge the status quo.  As are we at SpareMyTime.  Our aim is to retain what works and move on from what doesn’t.  Our team must be able to keep up. Better still, to contribute.

Passion and enthusiasm

Don’t you just love it when someone radiates happiness in what they do.  That tends to mean they’ll go the extra mile, without even trying.  That’s what happens when you love what you do.

Curiosity & desire to learn

My best candidates are those who always want to learn more.  They love to challenge themselves to be the best they can be.

Being comfortable in one’s own skin is a gift.  Don’t tell me what you think I want to hear.  Introduce me to who you are.
