When Alex came to SpareMyTime, he was trying to juggle Virtual IT Director consultancy work with all the admin and marketing needed to run a small business, alongside building up a client base. As a result, his books were all over the place but he was keeping his head in the sand and often filing returns late and even paying fines as a result. He felt chaotic, overwhelmed and unclear of how to regain control. 

We set him up with our uber-calm VA, Leigh-Anne whose excellent organisational skills and great eye for detail were a perfect match to take on Alex’s wayward receipts filing system. She worked strategically through over a year of his receipts and invoices, making sure that all were present and correct, reconcilable and filed correctly, and worked with Alex using Xero to keep track of his accounts seamlessly.

When Arabella contacted us through Facebook, she had just signed up to assist with a charitable event, on top of being a full-time working mum. A busy single mother of two, Fran’s dog-walking business had ballooned into a full-time role with a number of flexible staff when she came to us. She was completely fried, feeling like she was failing as she couldn’t keep hold of all of the moving parts. In reality we have seen a number of people like it – the business outgrows the ‘systems’ which have naturally developed to meet various admin needs.

 

The first thing we did was see how things could be streamlined to reduce stress for her and increase her efficiency. We also helped Fran to keep her staff happier by implementing HR processes and systems for their flexible working, as well as introducing her to a Xero for her accounts, saving her hours of admin time in her business.

As one of the founders of Writing Club – an agency delivering copywriting services to household names and exciting new start-ups, Ed knows his stuff when it comes to marketing a business. Where he and his team of writers fell down was the administration side: as the business grew externally, it was taking up a huge chunk of everybody’s time. The team needed someone to get things done and create more seamless processes, which in turn would free up their time to work on more projects and increase profits.
